Scott B. Laver is executive vice president - central for Idearc Inc. (NYSE: IAR)
Scott Laver is responsible for ensuring that Idearc provides businesses in the central United States with effective local search, Yellow Pages and direct mail advertising, tailored to their specific needs. He oversees sales, marketing, finance and human resources for these markets.
Before assuming his current position, Laver was president of Idearc's mid-Atlantic, southeast and central areas. Before that, he held several executive positions with Verizon Information Services (VIS), including area president, president - Internet division, president - Canada/Northwest, president and general manager — Canada, and vice president/general manager - Texas/Midwest Region.
Laver joined GTE Telephone Operations in 1987 as an accounting supervisor in Florida. He advanced through positions of increasing responsibility, including controller for GTE Directories; director - international finance — mergers, and director - acquisitions support for GTE Service Corp. in Stamford, Conn. He also served as vice president - international for GTE Directories.
Laver is a graduate of the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce.
