Executive Vice President — Transformation and Marketing
Sandra L. (Sandy) Henjum is executive vice president — transformation and marketing for Idearc Inc. (NYSE: IAR)
Sandy Henjum is responsible for the marketing organization and guiding a wide range of business transformation initiatives that address sales productivity, new products, pricing programs and market and customer segmentation.
Henjum previously served as interim executive vice president - Operations. Prior to this assignment, she was area president - Southeast and Central, National and TCC and before that, she served as area president for national customers and local customers in the southeast and central markets for both Idearc and its predecessor, Verizon Information Services (VIS).
Henjum previously served as VIS group vice president — human resources. In that position, she implemented an employee alignment program to efficiently integrate GTE and Bell Atlantic when the two companies merged in 2000.
Henjum began her career as an account executive with Information Resource Corp. in 1982. She was a career development counselor at the University of Illinois and a human resources consultant with Beamer-Fonner Inc. before coming to GTE in June 1984. Henjum served as director — human resources beginning in 1989 and became director - employee relations in 1993. In 1996, she was named director — international human resource staffing, and in August 1997 she was named vice president — human resources international, a position she held until July 2000.
A graduate in business administration from State University of New York at Geneseo, Henjum earned a master's degree in industrial and labor relations from the University of Illinois — Champaign/Urbana in 1984. In 1998, Henjum received the University of Illinois Institute of Labor and Industrial Relations Early Achievement Award for International Human Resources.
Since 2004, Henjum has been a board member for the National Children's Alliance, a nationwide not-for-profit membership organization that promotes and supports communities in providing a coordinated investigation and comprehensive response to victims of severe child abuse. She has been a member of the Dallas Better Business Bureau since 2007 and serves on its board of directors.
